Missouri Attorney CLE hour credits

Missouri attorneys are required to complete 15 CLE hours every compliance year. As part of this 15-hour requirement, you must complete at least two credit hours of accredited programs and activities devoted exclusively to professionalism, substance abuse and mental health, legal or judicial ethics, or malpractice prevention; and at least one credit hour of accredited programs and activities devoted exclusively to cultural competency, diversity, inclusion, and implicit bias.

Attorneys have the option of attending up to six (6) credit hours of on-demand programs per compliance year.

The courses offered by CLE Academy are considered on-demand programs. You may NOT satisfy the ethics or elimination of bias requirements through on-demand programs.

 

HOW TO COMPLETE COURSES

Here are the steps to complete a course:

  1. Purchase the course
  2. You will receive an emailed order receipt. The receipt will include links to your course(s) so that you can start your course(s) immediately, you will use these links to start or resume your course(s) at any time.
  3. Complete the course. Once you have completed the course you will be able to immediately download and print your course certificate.

How many CLE hours are required?
Fifteen (15) CLE credits are required every compliance period. At least two credit hours of accredited programs and activities devoted exclusively to professionalism, substance abuse and mental health, legal or judicial ethics, or malpractice prevention; and at least one credit hour of accredited programs and activities devoted exclusively to cultural competency, diversity, inclusion, and implicit bias.

When is my education due?
All continuing legal education activities must be completed by June 30 of each compliance period.

Can I carry hours forward to the next year?
If you take more than 15 hours of accredited programs in an MCLE year, the excess accredited program hours may be carried forward to the next reporting year, up to a maximum of 15. Self-study or on-demand hours are not counted in the calculation of carry forward hours.

Does CLE Academy report my CLE hours completed?
Attorneys are responsible for completing and submitting their report of compliance. CLE Academy will retain attendance records, but we do not file compliance information on behalf of the lawyers who attend our programs.

How many hours of audio-delivered programs can I complete per year?
Attorneys have the option of attending up to six (6) credit hours of on-demand programming per compliance year.

Is CLE Academy an approved provider in the state of Missouri?
The Missouri MCLE Department does not review or approve courses that Missouri lawyers may report for self-study or on-demand credit.
