Description
The Lawyers and Confidentiality course relates to legal subjects directly relevant to members of the State Bar and has significant current professional and practical content because the issues addressed are the duty of confidentiality, the attorney-client privilege, limited exceptions to the duty, why confidentiality is important to the legal profession, how confidentiality benefits both clients and attorneys, work product doctrine, legal compliance, and ethical codes. Additional relevant subjects addressed by the course are the exemptions to the duty of confidentiality, elements of disclosure, whistle-blowing, Model Rules, and benchmark legal decisions.
